Mobile Elevating Work Platforms – Safe Use and Requirements – English

DSPS · OSHA

Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs), including scissor lifts and boom lifts, are commonly used to safely access elevated work areas in construction, maintenance, utility, and industrial operations. Because these machines present unique hazards, employees must understand proper operating procedures, safety requirements, and their responsibilities while working on or around aerial lift equipment.

This training provides an overview of MEWP safety principles, current industry standards, hazard recognition, and safe work practices designed to protect operators, occupants, and workers on the ground.

Course Duration: 26 minutes
